Terms of Service

Last updated October 17, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the operator of Freeurl ("we", "us"). By using https://freeurl.net or any short link service we provide (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom). If you use the Service for a company or organization, you confirm that you can accept these Terms for it.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and tell us quickly if you think someone else has access to your account. We may suspend accounts that look compromised.

3. What you may do

You may create short links to web pages you have the right to share, use them for personal or business purposes, and connect domains that you own or control.

4. What you may not do

You may not use the Service to create or share links that:

  • lead to phishing, malware, scams, fake giveaways, or any page meant to trick people out of money or personal information;
  • distribute illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, or content that promotes violence or terrorism;
  • infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights of others;
  • send spam or hide the real destination in order to deceive;
  • point to private or internal network addresses, or are used to attack, probe or overload any system;
  • chain through other link shorteners to hide where they lead.

You also may not try to break, scrape at scale, reverse engineer or overload the Service, work around limits, or use it to build a competing shortener from our data.

5. Links, review and removal

We scan links when they are created and may hold, disable or delete any link at any time, with or without notice, if we think it breaks these Terms or the law or puts people at risk. We may suspend or close accounts that do this repeatedly. We cannot promise that a link will never be disabled by mistake, and you can contact us at [email protected] if you think we made one.

6. Third-party content

Links are created by users. We do not review or control the pages they point to and are not responsible for them. Opening a destination is your choice. You can check where a link goes with our unshorten tool.

7. Custom domains

If you connect a domain, you confirm that you own it or are allowed to use it. You are responsible for your DNS settings. We may stop serving a domain if it is used in breach of these Terms or if the DNS records are removed.

8. Your content and our license

You keep ownership of the destination addresses and titles you submit. You give us permission to store and process them to run the Service, for example to redirect visitors and to show click statistics.

9. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep the Service running, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". It may be interrupted for maintenance or because of problems we do not control. We may change or stop features. Because the Service is free, we may also change limits, and we will try to give notice of significant changes.

10. Disclaimer and limit of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to US$100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. When an account is deleted, its links stop working.

12. Copyright complaints

We accept copyright notices by email or online form only. See our copyright page for how to send one. We act promptly on valid notices.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make a significant change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where we can, tell you by email or in the dashboard. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new Terms.

15. Takedowns and Grievance Officer

We act on court and government orders within 36 hours of receiving them. We remove non-consensual intimate images within 24 hours of a complaint. To make a complaint, write to our Grievance Officer at [email protected].

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms: [email protected].

15. Ads on your own domain

If you connect a custom domain, you may be able to show your own ads on the short links that use it. This feature is optional, and these rules apply to it on top of the rest of these Terms.

  • Your account, your responsibility. The ad network account, the ad code you paste, the content of your ads, payments, taxes and your agreement with the network are yours alone. We do not run the network, we do not pay you, and we do not promise any earnings.
  • Only on domains you own. Your ads run only on a custom domain that you control, with verified DNS and an active SSL certificate. They never run on our own domains.
  • Follow your network's rules. You must follow the rules of your ad network. Do not use Google AdSense on short-link pages. Do not use code that downloads files, redirects visitors on its own, shows fake system warnings or fake buttons, mines cryptocurrency, or otherwise harms visitors or their devices.
  • No invalid traffic. Do not click your own ads, buy or exchange traffic, use bots or scripts, offer rewards for clicks, or mislead people into clicking. We may not count traffic that looks fake, and ad networks may close accounts and keep the money.
  • Popunders are optional and limited. A popunder is available only if we have enabled it for your account or domain. Popunders can cause browsers or security tools to warn about or block your domain, and you use them at your own risk. We may turn them off at any time.
  • Limits. We limit how often the same visitor sees an ad page. You may see your own ads while you test your setup, but you must never click them. We may change these limits at any time.
  • Verification files. Any verification file, meta tag or ads.txt line you add must be one that your ad network gave you for your own domain. We may remove anything else.
  • Visitors and privacy. Ad networks may use cookies and collect visitor data under their own policies. You are responsible for any notice or consent that the law requires for your ads and your domain. Ad pages are always labelled "Advertisement".
  • Our right to act. We may switch off ads, stop serving a domain, or close an account at any time, with or without notice, if we see abuse, fake traffic, a complaint, a security risk or a breach of these Terms. We owe you nothing for earnings lost this way.
  • Claims. To the extent the law allows, you will cover us for claims, losses and costs that come from your ads, your ad network account or your domain.

Link safety

  • Safety checks. We check destination addresses when a link is created or edited, and again in the background and when it is opened. We use our own system and, at creation and edit, services such as Google Safe Browsing and an AI check of the address text. A link can be paused or blocked when we find evidence of phishing, malware, scams or program downloads.
  • Checks on your own domain. On a domain you connect, you may turn some optional checks off. If you do, you take responsibility for the links on that domain. Checks that protect everyone, such as known phishing and malware lists, cannot be turned off.
  • Appeals. If we paused a link by mistake, you can ask for a review from your Links page.

Affiliate disclosure. Our dashboard may link to third-party services, such as ad networks. Some of these links are affiliate links: if you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Using them is optional.
