Link analytics checker

Paste any Freeurl short link to see its clicks over time, top countries, devices, browsers and where visitors came from.

Tip: add a plus sign to the end of any short link, like freeurl.co/abc123+, to open its stats.

What you will see

The same click report that account owners get, for any short link made without an account. Links made in an account keep their stats private.

  • Total clicks, and clicks for the last 7, 30 or 90 days
  • Top countries, devices and browsers
  • Where clicks came from, such as Instagram, Google or email
  • The busiest hour of the day and the latest clicks

How to read a click report

Start with clicks over time. A sharp jump usually matches a post, email or ad going out, so you can see which message moved people. A flat line after a launch day is normal; most links get the majority of clicks in the first 48 hours.

Countries and devices show who is clicking. If most visitors are on phones, make sure the page you link to loads fast on mobile. If clicks come from a country you do not serve, check where the link was shared.

Referrers show where people were when they clicked, for example a social app, a search engine or an email client. Many apps hide the referrer, so a share of clicks will always show as direct. Adding UTM tags with the UTM builder gives you a clearer answer in your own analytics.

Privacy

We never show who clicked. The report lists only a city or country, a device type and a browser. Links created inside an account keep their reports private unless the owner chooses to make them public. To control your own link reports, create a free account.

Questions people ask

Can anyone see the stats of my link?

Links made without an account (as a guest) have public stats, so anyone with the link can look them up here. Links made inside a free account keep their stats private: only the owner can see them, after signing in.

Does it work for other shorteners like bit.ly?

No. Only links created with Freeurl, including links on Freeurl custom domains, have stats here.

How fresh are the numbers?

Clicks show up within about a minute. We never show visitor names, emails or full IP addresses.

Do bots and link previews count as clicks?

No. We filter out search engine crawlers and the preview bots that chat apps use, so the numbers reflect real people.
